Avengers: Infinity War Movie Review

Had a fab day with the Avengers ensemble while watching Avengers: Infinity War. Couldn’t make it the first week as I was tied up with other “stuff”, but this deservedly gets a must watch vote from me. For me personally, the movie more than lives up to its hype unlike Black Panther. While the movie itself was super awesome, it only served the purpose of an entrée with everyone looking forward to Avengers 4, 5, and 6 to complete the main course and the dessert. [Read More]

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Movie Review

Watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Double the fun you ask? Well not nearly, but certainly a blast the second time around too. Chris Pratt AKA Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper keep you entertained along with Michael Rooker and Karen Gillan. New additions are Pom Klementieff, Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell, and cameos by Ving Rhames and Michelle Yeoh. It’s a recommended watch, especially a doubleheader with the prequel. [Read More]

Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Review

Guardians of the Galaxy is lots of fun. You can quote me on that. I hadn’t seen this in the past, just never got around to it or made the time for it. Now while doing it as part of the Avengers: Infinity War catch up I have to say it’s a blast. I really had a lot of fun with it, Chris Pratt AKA Star-Lord is a blast. Zoe Saldana does a good job, but continues to be covered in green color this time around. [Read More]

Doctor Strange Movie Review

Watched Doctor Strange. The audio is simply out of this world, my subwoofer had a steady throaty roar throughout punched by sharp sequences of action and tension. The audio track creates an atmosphere that is uniquely its own and also manages to create its own world that is different from the visuals. Spectacular audio on the home theater makes the movie worth watching on its own. I would say reference quality or very near to it. [Read More]

Captain America: Civil War Movie Review

Watched Captain America: Civil War. For starters, this was still fresh in my memory as I’d not watched it on the big screen when it released, but on Blu-ray fairly recently. But I watched it anyways for continuity and to pick up on any cues for future movies in the MCU. What I really loved were the spectacular action sequences. The tunnel fight between Captain America, Black Panther, and the Winter Soldier set the bar high, and the action continues nonstop for the rest of the movie. Avengers: Age of Ultron Movie Review

Watched Avengers: Age of Ultron and this was a lot more fun. Probably has to do with the fact that I absolutely love James Spader, and he is spot on perfect for the role of Ultron. His voice gives emotions to even a metallic robot making it act! And then there were some moments like… The fight between Hulk and Iron Man. Jarvis AKA Vision picking up Thor’s hammer. The war of words between Iron Man and Ultron, truly hilarious. [Read More]

The Avengers Movie Review

Watched The Avengers as I get ready for the Avengers: Infinity War release date. One thing I observed was that the scale and destruction do seem a bit dated especially in comparison to recent monster and disaster movies. Also, the movie itself wasn’t as much fun as it was the first time around. However, you do pick up on small things that begin to form a thread with the rest of the Avengers movies as well as the MCU franchise. [Read More]

Avengers: Infinity War, Getting Ready

Avengers: Infinity War, I am getting geared up and ready for the big one. I haven’t really dug deep into either MCU or DCEU (not really a comics guy) though I have watched most of the movies. However, like most non-regulars, my history of what really took place till now is a bit fuzzy and that will mean when I go to watch Avengers: Infinity War I’ll probably be like when did this happen, and what is the backstory to this. Thor: Ragnarok Movie Review

Thor: Ragnarok is a lot of fun, probably the most fun I’ve had in a while, and especially in a superhero movie. Black Panther was good, but also accompanied by a lot of hype that did not do any service to the movie itself. On the other hand, I’d missed Thor: Ragnarok during its initial theatrical run and did not have much in the way of expectations going in to watch it on the home theater. [Read More]
